Which iPhone Should You Get? Best Buyer's Guide!

Well, after decided to get a shiny new iPhone, I literally got confused at all! I had some obvious options of course; get the latest one or look for an old version. Even with that two options, I had many other sub-options. Which latest one? X, XS, C, Max, Pro?

Literally, why there are so many models? Let’s say that I am going for an older one. Should I get new one or used one?

iPhone 11 Pro Max VS Note 10 Plus: Best Versus Ever!

Before letting you know how my story ended, I will try to explain how I made my strategy to get one. It all started when I got a bonus for Christmas gift this year. Althought it was not that much, I decided to give myself a good gift and boost my morale.

I, then immediately started to check some web pages. Too much information and options were available but I didn’t know what to do. Like I said in the beginning, so many alternatives made me lose my spirit. Then, I changed my strategy and started to read blogs and comparison about iPhone models.

Still, I found myself between a big fight among the Apple fanboys and Android enthusiastic. Finally, without a forward progress, I decided to write down what I need from a smart phone and got the answer from them. I strongly advise you to do the same.  Otherwise it is all bs but nothing at all!

And please keep in mind that pricing is usually not a criteria while selecting your iPhone model because these guys are super strong when it comes to terms of marketing and pricing. You might think that the best iPhone is the latest iPhone

However, Apple began to release three different iPhone models each year. iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR were the combination of the models in 2018 and it was very similar in 2019, too. Therefore, you have to think more about which iPhone to choose.

The answer to the question of which iPhone should I buy was always difficult because Apple still offers a wide range of iPhone options by continuing to sell older iPhone models. In addition, there are screen size and storage options to consider. What's more, Apple introduced three new iPhones at the same time, making the choice when buying an iPhone more complicated.

However, it is worth noting that Apple smartphones are not cheap. In this case, choosing the best iPhone becomes more important. That's why I want to put together the most powerful devices and help you choose which Apple smartphone to choose.

Latest Models Available

Alright, in order to help you, first I need to show you what is available at the markets which are the latest superstars of the Apple. Let’s follow an chronological order and give you some hints! Remember, as our strategy strongly suggest to get what you need, please read the specifications and try to take notes what you really need and if that device is suitable for that.

Summary:

Of course there is no need to tell that the iPhone 11 Pro Max is the largest and the most expensive iPhone among the 2019 Apple iPhones announced by Apple. Like 2018, 3 different versions were announced. It is offered in the USA starting at $ 1.099. The price of course increases as the storage space increases.

The design of the phone doesn't change much in terms of design compared to the iPhone XS Max that announced in 2018. The biggest changes are on the camera side and that change really changed the game plan globally. An ultra-wide angle camera is added to the rear and the design of camera positions changed a lot. Photo software has also been updated, switching between different zoom levels looks smoother than on other phones.

As an answer to the general critism for Apple iPhones, the battery power and level is increased by 4 hours compared to the iPhone XS Max. This claim of course belongs to Apple and the battery power depends on the usage as usual. This is one of the strengths of the new iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The resolution of the selfie camera on the front has been increased to 12 Megapixels due to the trends of selfie usage. On the other hand, with the TrueDepth camera system, Apple’s unique and crucial Face ID works faster than the previous generation and allows you to unlock the screen faster with a face. The screen can also be unlocked when you hold the phone on horizontal side, too.

2-) iPhone 11 Pro

Specifications:
Weight: 188 gr | Dimensions: 144 x 71.4 x 8.1 mm | Operating System: iOS 13 | Screen size: 5.8 inches | Resolution: 1125 x 2436 | CPU: Apple A13 Bionic | RAM: 4 GB | Storage: 64/256/512 GB | Battery: 3046 mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP + 12 MP | Front camera: 12 MP Starting Price: $999.99 (64GB), $1,149.99 (256GB), $1.349,00 (512GB)

Summary:

Among 2019 Apple iPhones announced by Apple, the iPhone 11 Pro seems ideal for those who don't want the big screen and body of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but want a smaller, more comfortable phone. Of course, the price is also behind the Pro Max version.

Although the specifications of the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are almost identical, It only houses a smaller screen and a lower capacity battery. Nevertheless, the iPhone 11 Pro has 4 hours longer battery life than its predecessor, the iPhone XS.

The three rear cameras promise good quality pictures, while the 12 megapixel selfie camera at the front allows you to create moving and slow motion selfie pictures called Slofie. iPhone 11 Pro looks ideal for the users with smaller hands and smaller gaming preferences.

3-) iPhone 11

Specifications:
Weight: 194 gr | Dimensions: 150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm | Operating System: iOS 13 | Screen size: 6.1 inches | Resolution: 828 x 1792 | CPU: Apple A13 Bionic | RAM: 4 GB | Storage: 64/128/256 GB | Battery: 3110 mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP | Front camera: 12 MP Starting Price: $ 699.99 (64GB), $ 749.99 (128GB), $ 849.99 (256GB)
Summary:

The iPhone 11 isn't the highest-end feature of Apple's 2019 iPhone. However, it is the most affordable product of 2019 and features are nearly same with its bigger and expensive siblings.

There are two cameras on the back of the phone. The iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have a telephoto lens, iPhone 11 has not. But thanks to the ultra wide-angle camera, it allows the owner to fit more objects in one frame. It is also enhanced in portrait mode.

The iPhone 11 has an LCD screen instead of an OLED. However, this display allows the best battery life in its class. In addition, this phone has 4 GB of RAM.

4-) iPhone XR

Specifications:
Weight: 194 gr | Dimensions: 150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm | Operating System: iOS 12 | Screen size: 6.1 inches | Resolution: 828 x 1792 | CPU: Apple A12 Bionic | RAM: 3 GB | Storage: 64/128/256 GB | Battery: 2942 mAh | Rear camera: 12MP | Front camera: 7MP Starting Price: $ 599.99 (64GB), $ 649.99 (128GB), $ 749.99 (256GB)

Summary:

The iPhone XR was the best choice of 2018 for those who think of a budget but want a high-performance iPhone. This phone, which is the cheapest price among the 2018 iPhones, is also described as offering the best battery life among the three models. Of course it is all about the features and screen size & resolution.

What makes this Apple phone different and fun is the choice of colors. Available in vibrant colors such as blue, white, black, yellow, coral and red. Compared to the more classic colors of the iPhone XS and XS Max, I can say that it has more spirit in it. But in terms of material quality, other smartphones are ahead.

In terms of some hardware components, the iPhone XR shares in common with its more expensive siblings. Apple's fast-moving A12 Bionic chipset and 12-megapixel main camera are the same as the iPhone XS and XS Max. But there's only one camera in the back.

The lack of a second camera causes the software to blur the background in Portrait photos. In addition, the angle is larger in portrait photographs. The cheaper, more colorful phone's 6.1-inch screen features LCD technology and offers a reasonable visual experience, even at low resolution.

5-) iPhone XS

Specifications:
Weight: 174 gr | Dimensions: 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm | Operating System: iOS 12 | Screen size: 5.8 inches | Resolution: 1125 x 2436 | CPU: Apple A12 Bionic | RAM: 4 GB | Storage: 64/256/512 GB | Battery: 2659 mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP | Front camera: 7MP Starting Price: This model is no longer for first hand sale. You will need to find it from second-hand sellers.

Summary:

The Phone XS features a 5.8-inch Super Retina full screen. The rear surface is glass and there is a stainless steel strip around the body. The side button is on the right side of the device. There is a 12 MP wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera on the back. There is also a True Tone flash with four LEDs on the rear and a SIM tray compatible with the "fourth form factor" (4FF) nano SIM card on the right. The IMEI number is printed on the SIM tray.

Thanks to the 5.8-inch display and narrow screen frame, it is more comfortable to hold than the XS Max. However, it will be highly satisfying for most people in terms of features.

iPhone XS does not have much difference in design from its predecessor, the iPhone X. In terms of internal components and performance, there are significant improvements. The 12 megapixel rear camera captures quality pictures thanks to the Smart HDR feature. The TrueDepth-enabled front camera has been improved and Face ID works faster. The A12 Bionic chipset delivers the same level of performance as the larger-screen iPhone XS Max.

In fact, this full-screen phone offers the capabilities of the iPhone XS Max in the form of the flagship of the previous year. The smaller the screen, the smaller the battery. However, you can still take great photos and videos and play games easily. Although smaller in size, the iPhone XS doesn't differ much in performance from the larger-screen XS MaxiPhone XS has been discontinued by Apple

However, you can still find it on sales channels outside of Apple.

6-) iPhone XS Max

Specifications:
Weight: 208 gr | Dimensions: 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm | Operating System: iOS 12 | Screen size: 6.5 inches | Resolution: 1242 x 2688 | CPU: Apple A12 Bionic | RAM: 4 GB | Storage: 64/256/512 GB | Battery: 3174 mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP | Front camera: 7MP Starting Price: This model is no longer for first hand sale. You will need to find it from second-hand sellers.

Summary:

The iPhone XS Max is one of the best iPhone models you can buy right now. Once the largest and best iPhone, if your wallet is large and your hands are large, it will be the best choice for you. The 6.5-inch wide OLED display supports HDR10. This makes the colors look vivid and impressive. If you want big screen, this phone will be perfect for you.

On the back there are two cameras, both with a resolution of 12 megapixels. Apple uses a technology called Smart HDR in this camera system. At the same time, sensor size is increasing, pixel sizes are increasing. Don't be fooled by the 12 megapixel resolution. Thanks to its depth detection capabilities, the iPhone XS Max can take photos with a blurred background. Moreover, the blur can be changed after shooting.

On the front there is a 7 megapixel selfie camera. On the other hand, with the TrueDepth camera system, Face ID works faster than the previous generation and allows you to unlock the screen faster with a face. Of course, Memoji, which was first introduced with Animoji and iOS 12, is among the features of the iPhone XS MaxiPhone XS Max has been discontinued by Apple. However, you can still find it on sales channels outside of Apple.

7-) iPhone 8 Plus

Specifications:
Weight: 202 gr | Dimensions: 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5mm | Operating System: iOS 11 | Screen size: 5.5 inches | Resolution: 1080 x 1920 | CPU: A11 Bionic | RAM: 3 GB | Storage: 64 / 256GB | Battery: 2,691mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP | Front camera: 7MP Starting Price: $ 449.99 (64GB), $ 599.99 (256GB)

Summary:

The iPhone 8 Plus may be the right choice for users who don't want to follow the new path Apple has set for their smartphone. They will also have a large screen with a 16: 9 aspect ratio and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. For the iPhone users who don't want to give up their habits with a 5.5-inch screen, a cheaper price than the iPhone XS and XR, and a physical home screen button, the iPhone 8 Plus seems to be the right choice.

On the other hand, the iPhone 8 Plus has some remarkable features that you may love. This is one of the models that supports both wireless and fast charging. The camera has also been improved over the previous generation. The camera system with a dual lens features one normal and one telephoto lens. Unlike the telephoto lens of the iPhone XS and XS Max, the second camera of the iPhone 8 Plus does not have optical image stabilization. Still, it's possible to capture distances perfectly.

Today, phone designs with almost zero-frame displays are becoming popular. In such an environment, the iPhone 8 Plus has become extraordinary with its classic design, which has been carried since a few years ago. As a result, the iPhone 8 Plus seems to be a viable option for those who have big hands but don't have a wallet big enough to pay for the newer iPhone XS Max.

Conclusion

After all of the informations given, and again let me remind you our strategy, we are going to need a necessity analysis to choose an iPhone model.

Our keywords and naturally sections are; screen size, storage, battery, design and material. After you select your priorities, it will be super easy to select your new iPhone.

Which Screen Size Do You Need?

All iPhones come with 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch, 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch screens. The larger screen means better video and gaming experience. If these experiences aren't of interest to you, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones are still pretty good options.

If you don't want to shake your budget much, the iPhone 8 series still performs quite well; especially iPhone 8+.

The screens are different in every iPhone. If you don't carry bags with you all the time, you can consider iPhone base models (8, X, 11) if you want to carry your phone in your pocket. Plus, Max and Pro models are bigger devices.

The Liquid Retina HD 6.1-inch LCD display on the iPhone 11 offers true-to-life colors and this bright display keeps its brightness to the corners. And so everything from photos to videos and games looks amazing.

On the other hand, the Super Retina XDR on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max is a 5.8-inch or 6.5-inch OLED screen, the best iPhone screen ever, and also the clearest Apple screen. It offers a clearer and more vibrant viewing experience in the sun.

And it's perfect for HDR movies with more lifelike black tones and more detail in scenes with bright images like fireballs.

How Much Storage Do You Need?

If all you're doing on the iPhone is watching videos and making phone calls, 64GB of storage is enough. However, if you want to install music archives and plan to install lots of applications, it is not recommended to go down to 128 or 256GB. For the price / performance ratio, you can choose the iPhone X series or the 11 series, which is slightly higher.

Each iPhone comes with different storage options and none of them have a MicroSD card slot. 5 GB of iCloud storage is available for your Apple ID when you purchase an iOS device.

With up to 256GB of storage on the iPhone 11, you have plenty of space for your favorite apps, games, music and movies. Enough to store photos and 4K videos you'll take over the years. The iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro, on the other hand, deserve huge storage space. You can opt for the 512GB to continue taking 4K videos and photos without worrying about storage space.

How Important is Battery Life?

All iPhones have about the same battery life according to their screen and resolution. However, only the iPhone XR stands out for its enormous battery life. This is because the device has a low screen resolution which extends the battery life considerably. You may want to consider this factor.

Although the battery capacity of all iPhone models is different, the average performance of the battery remains the same. Because each model has different power requirements. Whichever iPhone you use, don't be fooled by the utopia that the charge will take more than a day. If your charge goes for more than a day, you are already using the device well below its limits.

Also note that all the iPhone products released after the iPhone 7 supports wireless charging so you may skip that feature when you are comparing the models.

iPhone 11 delivers impressive all-day battery life and fast charging to its owner. The iPhone 11 Pro represents Apple’s biggest step to date in terms of all-day battery life and sets standards again. And the quick-charge adapter is included.

In addition, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has 2 hours more battery life than the iPhone 11 Pro.

What About Camera?

This is the most complex question to answer when comparing iPhones. Since it is hardware+software solution to get great images, memojis, blur options etc., you need to be crystal clear to know what exactly you need from your device.

Although some people consider that smartphones are also professional cameras, that idea might bu rubbish for other users. If you are one of the professional camera equals my smartphone society, you must have one of the 2019 series; iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The iPhone 11 Pro's triple camera system features a telephoto lens. This allows you to shoot professional-level portraits, zoom in on distant subjects when photographing wildlife or in a sporting event.

On the other hand, with the dual camera system on the iPhone 11, it is possible to capture everything from 4K videos to spectacular portraits. With the Ultra Wide camera you can zoom out and take panoramic landscapes or large indoor photos.

Please keep in mind that it is not only about the hardware but software. Software enhancements in Apple iPhone 11 series are really changed the game.

Design and Material?

On the iPhone 11 you will find a product of aluminum and glass design. The iPhone 11 has the most durable glass used in a smartphone. Moreover, both front and rear surface. And this glass design is accompanied by strong, durable, aerospace industry aluminum.

On the other hand, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are made of the same durable glass used. This glass has a high-quality textured matt design on the back surface. The design is accompanied by surgical grade polished stainless steel.

Phone 11, in case you fall into the pool of the hotel you are vacationing up to 30 minutes water resistant to a maximum depth of 2 meters. It also resists coffee, tea, carbonated drinks and many other liquids. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, on the other hand, are resistant to the same liquids. The only difference is that it has doubled the depth level of durability: up to 4 meters up to 30 minutes.

The first thing we need to do is to clarify our expectations. If you're wondering which iPhone is the best, it means you've decided to buy iPhone

If we have clarified our priorities and expectations; you can now choose one of my recommendations. Thanks for reading, I hope it has helped.
