The flagships, which are introduced to the market every year, are sold as expected this year. Until now, Apple has come to the fore thanks to its software. Samsung, by introducing more muscular models to the market, was trying to prevent the software superiority of Apple. With the month of August 2019, the mobile market started to move. Samsung introduced the new generation flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and it did a pretty good job, especially on the design side. A new generation of S-Pen movements, advanced camera and new features of Note 10 Plus added a few more levels to previous Note 9 and the Galaxy Note 10 family sales began immediately. Afterward, Apple introduced the iPhone 11 Pro.

As many people know, the two devices, introduced approximately one month apart, came across with features representing both operating systems. Featuring the highest-end components and top-of-the-line technologies, smartphones have provided some fans with high satisfaction.

So, when we consider all these features, which one is the more logical option? 

The iPhone 11 Pro Max features Apple’s latest and greatest mobile processor — the A13 Bionic. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus, on the other hand, offers Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 855. Despite the fact that the iPhone offers only 4GB of RAM — one third the huge 12GB featured in the Note 10 Plus. However, benchmarks aren’t everything.

In this article, I will try to divide subjects into more detail and try to compare them as much as I could. I will analyze hardware, software, design, pricing, and more advanced details to give you a perspective.


Although hardware parts are less visible, known and care-worthy for most of the regular users, they are the most important parts there. A lot of features, speed, security, screen options and more are determined with the hardware using in those super smartphones.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max features a 6-core 6GB RAM and an A13 Bionic processor chipset. The Samsung Note 10 Plus has 8 cores with 12 GB RAM and an Exynos 9825 processor.

In storage, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is available in 64, 256 and 512 GB versions, while the Samsung Note 10 Plus offers two different models, 256 and 512 GB. However, the Samsung Note 10 Plus has memory card support.

For security, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a Face ID, while the Samsung Note 10 Plus has a built-in fingerprint reader.


The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 3500 mAh battery, while the Samsung Note 10 Plus has a 4300 mAh batteryBoth flagships support fast charging and wireless charging. While the iPhone 11 Pro Max does not come with a quick charger, the Samsung Note 10 Plus comes with a fast charger.


Both phones have a pretty good camera. Featuring a triple rear camera, the iPhone 11 Pro Max's main camera has a 12 MP and f / 1.8 aperture. It also features a 12 MP f / 2.0 aperture lens and a 12 MP f / 2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max is able to record 60 fps 4K video and support 120-240 frames for slow-motion video. The front of the iPhone 11 Pro Max is equipped with a 12 MP resolution portrait mode and Face ID support.

The Samsung Note 10 Plus has a 3-way rear camera with ToF support. The 12 MP main camera has an adjustable aperture of f / 1.5-f / 2.4. The main camera is accompanied by a 12 MP 2x telephoto lens and a 16 MP wide-angle lens. The front panel of the Samsung Note 10 Plus has a 10 MP camera. The Samsung Note 10 Plus is also able to record 60 fps 4K video.

Both phones have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is possible to say that the cameras of both flagships are close to each other and that they capture high-quality videos and photos.


The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch OLED display and the Samsung Note 10 Plus has a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. The screen resolution of the Samsung Note Plus is one step ahead. The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a screen resolution of 1242x2688 (FHD +) pixels and a Samsung Note 10 Plus with a screen resolution of 3040x1440 (QHD +) pixels.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 3D Touch, while the Samsung Note 10 Plus does not. However, both phones support HDR10 technology.

When we look at the display body ratio of the iPhone 11 Pro Max 82.69 percent, while the Samsung Note 10 Plus 92.23 percent of the screen body ratio. The screen size of the Samsung Note 10 Plus is far ahead of the iPhone 11 Pro Max.


Both phones are quite good in terms of design. Apple started the notch design with the iPhone XiPhone 11 Pro Max model continues to notched screen design.

Without a notched screen design, the Samsung Note 10 Plus opted for a perforated camera in the center of the screen to increase the screen body ratio. Positioning the camera in the center of the screen has a proportional appearance. The Samsung Note 10 Plus, which has a thinner bezel than its predecessor, offers a very high screen ratio.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max measures 158 x 77.8 x 8.1 mm and weighs 226 grams. The Samsung Note 10 Plus measures 162.3 x 77.1 x 7.9 mm and weighs 198 grams. The Samsung Note 10 Plus is larger than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but lighter in weight.

Both flagships are water and dust resistant and have IPX8 and IP6X certification. While the iPhone 11 Pro Max offers its users a choice of silver, gold, green and black colors, the Samsung Note 10 Plus is available in smoke black, moon dust gray and ivory white.

The Samsung Note 10 Plus has a larger screen design and offers a higher screen ratio than the iPhone 11 Pro Max.


The software section is the most different part of Apple and Samsung. Because of the following culture and features between iOS and Android, there are many different angles, points of views and opinions on that matter.

Let me quickly highlight some points in iOS 13 and Android 9 and you will be the judge to declare the winner of the software section.

Note: I do not share the same view with most gurus saying that iOS is secure & stable while Android is flexible. It depends on one million different other things!
  • iOS 13

Apple's new flagship device, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, uses the operating system iOS 13, which is included in the ecosystem. With the introduction of the "Login with Apple" method iOS 13, where users can enter the sites with anonymous ID, Apple showed that it has made quite innovative works in this field.

Apple has developed the Dark Mode feature that can be used in all applications with iOS 13Enhanced Portrait Mode, the Apple Photos you can use to view your photos, the highlights of iOS 13The fact that users want to use mobile applications on other devices is a point that smartphone manufacturers consider. 

Apple started to move iOS applications to macOS last year, Apple has made a similar move for the iPad this year. The company strives to increase the support between the devices, I can say that the company is making good strides in this area.

Apple continues its full-throttle with FaceTime and its Messaging app for video and text chat. The company promises secure communication with end-to-end encryption on iOS 13 and attracts attention with Memoji avatars that can be used in messages. iOS 13, re-arranging the map application, Apple, seems to be doing its best to close the lack of this area.
  • Android 9 (Pie)

Samsung's new flagship device Note 10 Plus uses Android 9 (Pie) as its operating system. Thanks to Android 9's new accessibility menu, general operations such as taking screenshots and manual navigation are easier for disabled people. 

“Select to Speak” allows you to select text on the screen; the content is read aloud. OCR support has been added for S2S in Camera and Images. Simply select the text when using the camera or picture; the text is highlighted and read aloud. 

New “Accessibility Service” makes it easier to negotiate conversations by dynamically adjusting over a hundred settings to increase volume in scenarios such as a noisy restaurant, bar, or concert.

Battery Saver turns off features such as the Always-On display to keep your charge running longer than ever before. In addition, you have more control over when it occurs - so you can go further with a charge. Adaptive Battery uses machine learning to predict which apps you will use and probably won't in the next few hours, so your phone only uses battery power for the apps you care about. 

With Adaptive Brightness, your phone learns how you adjust the brightness of your screen in different lighting environments and automatically does it for you over time. Suggestions in the Settings section to limit specific applications that use a lot of batteries, so you have more control over your battery. View the time spent on your phone, how often you use different applications, and how many notifications you receive daily.

With Android 9, developers create immersive experiences using streams from two or more physical cameras, for example, devices with dual front or dual rear cameras. External camera support: Android 9 supports external USB / UVC cameras on select devices.

Multiple Bluetooth connections: With Android 9, you can connect up to five Bluetooth devices and switch seamlessly between them. Incoming phone calls are sent to all connected Bluetooth devices that can accept, so you never miss a call.

HDR: Android 9 provides built-in support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) VP9 Profile 2, so you can watch HDR-enabled movies on YouTube and Google Play Movies. HDR improves the brightness and color space of the video to improve picture quality and experience. Improved performance and support for HD audio that delivers clearer, sharper and richer sound quality. Android 9 supports HEIF photos on the Android platform to improve the compression of images and reduce the required storage space.

Android 9 introduces a number of new security features, including a standard biometric authentication prompt to provide a more consistent authentication experience across AndroidAndroid Protected Authentication: On compatible hardware, applications can use the secure hardware controlled UI to get your approval for a sensitive transaction, such as making payments. StrongBox: On compatible hardware, applications can now use tamper-proof hardware to protect their private keys and make it difficult for malware to steal credentials.


Although pricing is a bit hard to describe here because of the campaigns and promotions, let me try to compare them with the initial pricings.

What I have in my mind that, both Apple and Samsung understood the pricing campaigns really well and again in my humble opinion there is not any winner in the price category.


Well, of course, it is not my duty to call a winner in the versus but there are some facts given above.

I talked about some situations in relation to today's comparison of this long-standing rivalry between Apple and Samsung and gave as many concrete figures as I could.

One thing to note is that the needs and budgets in the smartphone market are as decisive as phones. What you need is what determines the phone you choose.

The two phones that are compared in this article are the highest level smartphones that can be purchased with money, which will take some time to change in the coming period.

Whatever your preference, I wish you to choose the one that suits you best.
